Probably many thought - how to finish the walls on the loggia? Today we offer you to finish the loggia with PVC panels.

PVC panels - what is important to know

PVC panels they are beautiful, well processed, they are not afraid of moisture. The price of them is quite affordable.
Some people think that PVC panels are environmentally unsafe. This is not entirely true.
In fact, high-quality PVCs are not harmful to health and the environment. Again - high-quality PVC panels.

Choosing the right panels

It is no secret that in the modern market of building materials you can find a lot of low-quality and even hazardous material for health.

Our advice is to buy building materials only in specialized stores. When buying, require sellers to present a certificate of conformity for the purchased goods.
Do not trust the fake Xerox certificates.

Sheathed the walls of the loggia - step by step

Today we will tell you how to do your own PVC sheathing the loggia walls with our own hands. For greater clarity, we will place step-by-step photos interior decoration.

Insulation - the choice is yours

Before installation, decide whether you need insulation. Regardless of whether you will install a heater or not, before starting installation, we recommend that you install a vapor barrier on the walls.
It will protect the walls from condensation. PVC itself is not afraid of condensate.

Lathing mount
Lathing mount

Step one, mount the crate. For the crate, we will use a rail with a cross section of 20X40 m.
Fastening is possible using self-tapping screws and a screwdriver. The rail should be perpendicular to the direction of the mounted panels.

Crate Level Control
Crate Level Control

The elements of the crate are placed in increments of 400 - 500 mm. Using the building level, we check whether the rails are installed vertically accurately.
If the wall of the loggia is not even, it is necessary to level the crate by placing pieces of plywood, scraps of rail under it or using an assembly wedge.

The use of long screws and linings
The use of long screws and linings

Next, we produce fasteners using long screws or dowels - nails. It all depends on the wall material. In this case, a self-tapping screw or dowel - a nail, must pass through both the crate and the lining.
We again check, using the building level, the correct position of the crate.

The lower level of the crate
The lower level of the crate

At the bottom we place the crate at a distance of 40 - 50 mm from the floor, this will allow us to fix the floor plinth there in the future.

Top level

At the top, the crate should be installed at the level of installation of the ceiling elements.

Mounting on corners and slopes
Mounting on corners and slopes

Without fail, we mount the crate at the corners, around the door and window openings. For rooms with high humidity, it is recommended to use a metal or plastic crate.
The crate is ready, it is time to install the panels.

Installing the first panel

The first panel is the most important. Everyone else will focus on her.

Vertical Position Control
Vertical Position Control

Therefore, be very careful about this step. Regardless of how the crate is installed correctly, check the installed panel using the building level.
After the verification is completed, it is necessary to fix the panel with screws to the crate. The instruction in this matter is simple - the screws should be with a press washer.

Installation of the second panel
Installation of the second panel

One panel is installed. It remains to establish all the remaining.
The next is attached to the first and gently snaps along the entire length into the existing groove.
Further, everything is repeated in the same way as with the first panel. It is fixed to the crate using self-tapping screws.
All other panels are installed and fixed in the same way.

We cut correctly

Profile undercut along
Profile undercut along

This we installed the whole panel. But it’s clear that loggia wall decoration material we will need different sizes.
Therefore, in the process, we are faced with the fact that we need to get a panel of a strictly defined size. To do this, crop.
Trimming is done with a construction knife. We measure the size we need and transfer it to the panel.
To do this, the panel is laid horizontally on the floor and markings are made on it using a marker.
We draw a construction knife along the measured line until we get the width we need. As we already said, PVC panels are well cut.
If necessary, the panel can be cut, both along and across.

Undercut across
Undercut across

With a cross-section, it is necessary to cut the stiffeners with a construction knife in the marked place. Then, with a saw with small teeth, the panel is cut across.
If you need to make a figured incision in the panel, this may be required when finishing walls and window slopes.
So:

  • Marker is drawn on the panel with a marker.
  • A longitudinal section is made with a construction knife.
  • In this case, only the top layer of the panel is cut.
  • Next, the cross section is performed as described above, the ribs are cut and the cut itself is performed with a hacksaw.
  • A transverse undercut with a hacksaw cuts through two layers at once.
  • Now it remains only to remove the area we do not need.
  • We perform it by simple bending. Having bent several times in different directions, we will remove the unnecessary section.

Install trimmed panel

Our cut-out panel has a snap groove on one side. We insert it into the groove of the previous panel, snap it along the entire length and fix it with screws with a washer on the other side.

Trailing profile

The profile is final
The profile is final

We have finished installing panels on one wall. It's time to set up the final profile.
So:

  • We attach the final profile to the crate. In this case, it is necessary to take into account that the long part of the final profile is attached to the crate. Now you need to fix it.
Fixing the final profile

  • We do this with self-tapping screws. We insert a self-tapping screw into the groove into which the panel of the adjacent wall will be inserted, and twist.

Our advice is when installing the final profile, make sure that it fits snugly against already installed panels.

Installation on an adjacent wall
Installation on an adjacent wall

We begin to install the panel of the adjacent wall.

  • To do this, it is inserted into the groove of the final profile and slides along the entire length.

  • Further, the panel is fixed with self-tapping screws with a press washer.

Continued installation on an adjacent wall

Thus, we have a completely completed one wall and the first panel of the adjacent wall. Further steps are completely repeated by those that we performed on the first wall.
So:

  • We insert the panel, we fasten and we insert the following.
  • At the end of this wall we again establish the final profile and everything is repeated until the entire loggia is completely finished.

Installing the last panel - all the subtleties

All walls are sheathed. It remains to install the last panel.
Definitely the whole panel will not enter, well, only if with very rare exceptions.
Using a tape measure, measure the required width. The width should be measured not only from the nearest panel to the final profile, but to this distance it is necessary to add the size by which the panel will be inserted into the final profile.

Installing the last panel
Installing the last panel

The panel must be cut to the desired width. At the same time, note that the trimmed part should be on the side of the final profile.
So:

  • The panel is inserted into the final profile with the cut side and slides tightly.
  • After the grooves of the trimmed and the whole panel come together, gently press the panel along the entire length.

Do not worry if a small gap has formed at the junction of the panels. In the final panel there is still a large stock.
Therefore, you can freely slide the inserted panel to the already installed one. Thus, we eliminate even the smallest gap.

F - profile

We are almost ready to finish the loggia with panels. In places of slopes and doors there were left unfinished areas.
Cropped panels look ugly in these places, it's time trim the slopes.

F - profile on the slope of the window
F - profile on the slope of the window

To do this, use the F - profile. We set the F - profile at the joints of the PVC panels and slopes.
Our decoration of the walls of the loggia with panels is completed. Using panels of various colors and shades, you can create walls of unique beauty on the loggia.
If you have any questions - how to decorate the walls on the balcony or loggia, you can always read about it on our portal, watch a video of the installation process and get a lot of useful tips.
Good luck to you!
