Paint for lining
In order to paint the lining with paint, coating and glazing antiseptics, acrylate and oil paints, alkyd varnishes are usually taken:
- Oil solutions they are perfectly absorbed by wood, do not let the liquid through and cope with precipitation without any problems. The surface that has been treated with this paint, over time, begins to lose matting, color and dries slowly. If the material was processed with a bright or dark shade, then the lining will quickly lose attractiveness.
- Acrylate Compounds also resistant to precipitation, but if you compare them with oil, they retain their brilliance and color much longer. Surfaces treated with this paint breathe, do not crack, are elastic and vapor tight.
- Acrylic Scuba Diving It is best used indoors because they are environmentally friendly and do not cause allergies.
- Varnishes most often cover the floors, as they are hard. Their service life is not more than ten years, after which the lining should be repainted.
Attention: Interior wall paint Any colors can be selected. But it must be correctly applied. Before buying, its instructions should be studied, because there the manufacturer makes recommendations.
Paint the lining indoors
Paint the lining inside the house is not difficult. Everything can be done with your own hands, then the price of finishing will be much lower.
First of all, you need to pay attention to the external environment, because the choice will depend on this. If it is wet, then you should not take water emulsions, it is better to give preference to an oil-based dye.
Prepare the tool
Before you begin this step, you should have all the tools at hand.
This will require:
- Brush and roller (cm.Paint rollers: consider in detail);
- Bucket;
- Varnish;
- Capacity;
- Pumice;
- Stairs;
- Protective glasses;
- Primer (cm.Types of construction primers and their scope).
Surface painting
When painting, the following sequence must be observed:
- At the very beginning, we clean the surface of dust, old compound, dirt. If you skip this point, the paint will begin to peel off and you will have to do the work again. It happens that the old rags hold tight, in this case you have to prepare a solution - three hundred grams of soda on a bucket of warm water. So that the paint adheres well to the surface, it must be degreased with alkaline detergents;
- After grinding the surfacewhy use simple pumice;
- Now is the time to apply a primer antisepticYou can skip this, but in order to enhance durability and effect, it is better to do it. The thing is that over time, the tree begins to release resin, which reduces the protective qualities of the paint;
- The final stage - painting the lining. It is coated with either a transparent antiseptic or paint. To apply, take a spray gun, brush or roller. We finish the lining inside with top-down, with a thin layer.
Painting is carried out in three steps. We apply the first layer, wait until it dries, apply the next one and, if necessary, apply the last layer.
Attention: Do not forget that it is more effective to apply several layers, but thin than one thick. Experts give one more tip - so that the brushes are not visible, the top coat should be applied from top to bottom.
What are the means of processing the lining inside the building
Lining at the moment is an excellent competition for internal work (see. Clapboard decoration inside the house: material advantages and installation steps) But not many people know what exactly to process it with. Before starting the treatment, the lining must be plastered and dried so that the substances to be applied lay down more efficiently.
- Now we begin to impregnate wood, for this we are armed with antiseptic agents, they will help prevent the occurrence of black spots and mold. After impregnation, the lining should be left for a while, so that it dries out and only after that start processing activities;
- For work inside the house we take different materials, it all depends on the preferences of the owners. If a stain was taken, then this is a pretty good option, because there is always the opportunity to correct the color. If you need a color lighter or darker, you need to apply a stain several times with a thin layer, until you achieve the intended shade;
- Processing the lining indoors should be carried out with varnish. If until this moment the material was not treated with anything, then the varnish should be applied several times, while the previous layer should dry one hundred percent;
- There is another good option - wax. It is qualitatively absorbed into the wood, giving it a beautiful sheen. So a person can only make the final choice;
- If you do not have time to play with the processing of the material, wait until everyone dries, go to the hardware store, where you can purchase a special composition. At the very beginning, the lining is covered with an antiseptic, after which glazing from ultraviolet rays is used, after which it is opened with varnish (if necessary). If the lining is opened with varnish, then it can be used to finish the balcony, because the varnish does not allow moisture to absorb into the base, which will protect the lining;
- Many are interested in the question of how to cover the lining inside the building, our article helps to understand all the nuances. If quality material was bought, then for its processing it is better to use German compounds that contain waxes and oils;
- Softwood lining is most often used inside the house, and it is varnished. The tree grows old over time, water, fungal diseases, humidity - all this has its negative effect. That is why the varnish must be of high quality in order to protect itself from such problems;
- The balcony is often equipped in a living room, where you can safely rest. To cover the lining in this case, you must first remove all the dirt (use a hair or steel brush for this). If a fungus or mold has formed on the surface, it must be removed - for this, special bleaches are sold. It happens that these tools can not cope with the problem, then the surface is covered with stain. It is used to lighten the tree, and we apply it either with a roller or with a brush. The cleaned surface is then primed, waiting to dry, coated with a transparent antiseptic or top coat;
- If you decide to work in a bathhouse, it is best to choose hardwood (see Finishing the bath lining: do it right) It can be aspen, linden, alder.The advantage of this lining is that, unlike the coniferous version, they do not emit tar, which allows the material to heat up not too much and have excellent resistance to moisture. These characteristics should definitely be considered when buying a finishing material. To finish the ceilings in the bath, which are trimmed with lining, a special wax or oil is taken. To process the walls, mother-of-pearl scuba diving is quite suitable. The floors in the bath must be covered with high-quality varnish, diluted with White Spirit.
What is the lining painted with
To solve this problem, impregnation, glaze is usually taken. To protect the wooden surface, we use opaque antiseptics, acrylate and oil paints, varnishes.
- The antiseptic is qualitatively absorbed into the tree for a couple of millimeters, which protects the surface of the material from UV, blue, mildew, atmospheric precipitation and rot. If you want the wood texture to be preserved, have a more saturated shade, and the picture and natural beauty stand out, use a translucent antiseptic. If the plans completely remove the texture, while retaining only the relief, then opaque compositions will do;
- It is worth approaching the choice of paint for lining with all responsibility so that the interior is not spoiled. Oil formulations dry out quickly, prevent fluid from accumulating and change color over time. Acrylic paints are superior to oil in their characteristics, but the main difference is that they do not spread;
- If you plan to save on paint, then the ideal solution is to buy semi-gloss paints with a water base. They have a huge selection of shades, are environmentally friendly and are not expensive;
- To the ceiling, trimmed with lining, looked perfect, use a scuba gear. To do this, apply several layers of the solution with a brush. The floor is also covered with a scuba gear, for this you need to be covered with its anti-slip or water-repellent oil. As soon as everything is completely absorbed, it starts painting;
- To paint the wall paneling, the surface is first covered with an antiseptic, and then with special impregnation to ensure fire protection. Only then it is opened with paint or varnish;
- On the lining can be applied decorative glaze. There are several types of such processing - painting in the washout style, traditional surface coating, textured coating using various patterns for decorative painting, and so on. Glaze gives the surface a glossy sheen, which protects against damage and stains.
Finally, we’ll give some more useful tips.
If after work your hands are stained, then they can be washed with vegetable oil:
- To do this, pour oil on a rag, and rub on the contaminated areas, stand for five minutes and rinse off using detergent.
- To clean the glass of paint, a special paste is used, whose composition includes concentrated soda and chalk.
- The paste is applied to the painted area, leave for a while and when the paint softens, it can be removed without problems.
- To remove old oil paint from the wall, we heat the iron and apply foil to the base, we pass through the iron. After this process, the paint can be removed with a spatula without any problems.
Painting the lining inside the house in white or any other, is done the same way. The main thing is to properly and qualitatively prepare the foundation. Take a look at the photo and select the option you want, and the instructions will not let you make mistakes while doing the job.
I never understood and do not understand people who paint the lining with paint! Well, why buy a lining that is not at all cheap, surround it with a room, and then hide the beauty of wood under a layer of paint? In this case, it is easier to quickly beat and paint with sheets of chipboard, well, or plastic cheap lining. The lining in my understanding should be covered exclusively with transparent materials - various varnishes or stains that emphasize the pattern of the tree, make it more refined and rich. Even banal singe blowtorch and it turns out interesting and tasteful. Therefore, only varnish, and preferably quality!
