Masking tape	Masking tape. She can be protected from paint by something that is not planned to be painted - the edges of the notorious plinths and baguettes, sockets, etc.

Methods of working with water-based paints

To paint the walls with water-based paint, you only need a special paint roller and brush:

• Before application, a solution is prepared by mixing the pigment and the white base. The paint must be mixed thoroughly until a uniform color appears.
• Then there is a roller painting in smooth, sequential movements. Application is made in two or even three times. The last of the layers must be applied vertically.
• If painted in 2 layers: the application of the first is carried out horizontally directed strokes, the second vertically directed. If in 3 layers - the first and third from the bottom up, and the second from left to right. It is not necessary to wait for complete drying, as when working with other paints. To paint the corners, take a brush.
• To apply paint to the main surface to be painted, take a roller. The roller should be with a fur coat, which will ensure the absence of traces and stains. Compliance with the rules for applying paint will provide a high-quality result.

Caution: If you have a large plane, it is better to use a spray gun. Then the coating will be uniform and without smudges.

Method of working with alkyd paints

They are not applied as water-based. To work, you also need a brush, roller (see Paint rollers: consider in detail) The dense structure of the paint itself requires a competent attitude to the process. Paint in two layers.

• First, work is carried out with a brush, which is necessary for applying the paint itself in different directions (can be applied textured to obtain an unusual relief surface).
• Then take the paint roller and paint over vertically, distributing in even layers. For three-time application, the second layer is stained with horizontal movements of the roller, and the third is vertical.

Attention: It is necessary to dry the wall completely and only after that apply the subsequent layers.
