Aerated concrete house decoration

Rybnikov Alexey

Good evening. I decided to build a house for myself, walls of aerated concrete. With a thickness of 400 or 500, I want to do the exterior wall decoration without insulation: a leveling layer (reinforcing glue composition veber on the facade nylon mesh), textured silicone plaster “caroed” st125. Tell me how I made the right decision or I'm completely wrong. thank

Hello, Alexander. This approach, if used, is rare. Given that the composition of weber is used with any type of decorative plaster and facade paint, "such a cake" is quite suitable for exterior aerated concrete even without insulation. Moreover, silicone plaster embodied all the best qualities of mineral and acrylic mixtures.

What you need to know about aerated concrete

Before you make finish You need to know about the features of the material and choose the right plaster.

Aerated concrete has a special structure and has open pores, so for this facade need reliable protection. Otherwise, at low temperatures, cracks form on the blocks.

Therefore, the finishing material must have reliable frost resistance, adhesion, vapor permeability. Silicone plaster is quite suitable for all these requirements.

Weber reinforcing adhesive

It will provide reliable adhesion and a protective and decorative layer to the external facade.

For cooking:

  • It is necessary to fill in a large capacity bag of the composition (25 kg).
  • The mixture is added to water, and not vice versa.
  • The glue is kneaded in water at a temperature of 20 degrees.

Note. If the base is too porous and the temperature is higher, more water will be needed.

The glue is mechanically mixed to achieve a homogeneous mass.

How to apply a reinforced layer

On the coating, with the help of a notched trowel, apply the adhesive so that the roll of nylon mesh unfolds from top to bottom. Then gently smooth it so that the mesh does not appear on the surface.

A second coat is applied after a few days. If for some reason the second coat was not applied during the application, then a primer coat should be applied before doing this. The thickness of the reinforced layer should be 4.6 cm.

Apply plaster

Further, plaster is applied along the reinforcing mesh. The material must be ductile and easily applied to the surface. The thickness of the layer (depending on the surface) reaches 1.5 cm. After the mixture hardens, it becomes water-repellent, but quietly passes steam.
