We use gypsum-vinyl panels
Viprok panels are nothing more than sheets of drywall, but already having a finish. The surface of the panels is lined with vinyl wallpaper in the factory.
There are, by the way, gypsum acrylic options, where instead of vinyl wallpaper an acrylic coating is applied with increased wear resistance. Naturally, the price of such panels is higher than the cost of ordinary gypsum board, but due to the lack of need for a primer and putty, it pays off.
So:
- The minimum size of Viprock sheets is 1200 * 2500 * 13 mm, the same as GKL, only thicker. The width is always constant, and the length has four more options: 2700; 3000; 3300 and 3600 mm.
The decorative coating of sheets has many variations, most often it is the texture of stone, wood, decorative plaster. In appearance, gypsum vinyl panels are similar to MDF, but the lined surface looks completely different due to a different configuration and finishing the joints with special plugs.
- Most often, viprock is used for decoration of offices, as many believe that such wall cladding paneled kitchen, looks too official. The fact is that they are mounted differently than drywall: the joints between the sheets are not monolithically sealed, but are closed with a decorative filigree.
- But if you think well and beat this wall cladding: contrasting color furniture and accessories, use a decorative panel - you get an interesting modern interior, as in the example above. Such wall decoration will look good in a spacious kitchen-dining room or kitchen area in a studio apartment.
Only it should be remembered that viprok cannot be used for facing curved surfaces, although they practically do not exist in the kitchen. - But, there are many wires that need to be hidden somewhere. An obvious advantage of gypsum vinyl and gypsum acrylic panels is the fact that they can be quickly disassembled and reassembled without damaging the material.
This makes it possible to lay not only wires, but also communications behind the false wall.
We will not go into details of the installation of the viprock now. We will only say that to install the frame, five types of profiles are required.
They are offered to the buyer complete with cladding, and the manufacturer's instructions will allow you to do it yourself without any problems.

MDF panels are also often said to be a purely office version of wall decoration. And yet, he has a lot of fans.
Moreover, the manufacturers of this material are not asleep, and offer our attention all new modifications that differ in size and decorative coating.
The MDF panel, in fact, is a wood-fiber board. Polymeric resins are not involved in its production, so this material can be used in any living room, even in the bedroom, to say nothing of the kitchen.
To understand what the possibilities of its design appear, in addition to what you see in the picture above, we will offer a table with a brief description of the options for MDF panels.

As you can see, MDF panels can look not only in an office style, but also elegantly. With their help, you can wonderfully decorate any room, and not just the kitchen. And it can look no worse than in the example below.
So:
- To make the interior beautiful, the decor should be dosed. And this means that you need to finish either one wall, or everything, but only along the lower perimeter.
This is especially true for panel options with decorative and embossed front trim. The same can be said of other species. panels with 3D relief: gypsum, polyurethane, bamboo, which can also participate in the decoration of the kitchen-dining room.
Why are wall paneling in the kitchen only done until the middle?
So:
- The fact is that it is not only beautiful, but also practical. Any panels have a longer service life than, for example, wallpaper, or painted surface.
Along the walls there is usually furniture, and in the kitchen it’s a set that most often cannot be moved away, but can only be taken apart. Therefore, to make even redecorating in the kitchen can be problematic. - If panels are mounted in the lower part of the walls and wallpaper is glued on top, in order to refresh the kitchen, you can only change the wallpaper without touching the panels. With this approach, you do not have to disassemble the headsets.
We give you an example of such wall decoration in the kitchen. Simple, interesting, and very comfortable, isn't it?
- Many use for cladding the bottom of the walls ceramic tile. It is more expensive and time-consuming, and replacing a liner that has become bored over the years is impossible without an expensive overhaul.
Panels, if desired, are easily dismantled, and new ones are installed on the same frame.
It is possible to mount lamps in them, hide pipes, as well as insulate walls - solid pluses. Installation of MDF panels is often done on a wooden crate.
Although, small-format options can be, in the presence of an even base, mounted and glue.
Skinali
Speaking of decorating the walls of the kitchen, it is impossible not to mention such an option for decorating its interior as installing a skinhead. These are panels that do not have standard sizes and are made exclusively to order.
They are mounted either on the working wall, or in the same way as the options from MDF, along the lower perimeter of the walls.
So:
- The cheapest option is plastic skinheads. This type has good strength, but its appearance is quite simple.
Not every image can be applied to such a panel. Solid color options are sometimes used. In addition, plastic does not tolerate mechanical and thermal influences. A much more practical panel is made of acrylic glass (hardboard).
- Acrylic glass in its physical and mechanical characteristics is practically in no way inferior to silicate glass, and can be subjected to similar decorating methods. But its transparency coefficient is still lower, and this is important for the skin.
In addition, when it comes to the natural version, you need to keep in mind that tempered glass is used for decorative panels. - Its strength exceeds that of ordinary glass by several times. Tempered glass skins will not be able to be broken right away, even if you try very hard, so accidental blows are all the more frightening to him. Drawings and patterns of any degree of complexity are applied to it, which makes this option the most expensive.
- The service life of such a panel is practically unlimited. Skinals made of glass are used only for facing the working wall, as well as creating beautiful panels on other walls. You can see one of the options for such a kitchen design in our next example.
- An incredible amount of design options were thrown off: painted, tinted, mosaic, mirror, with full-color photo-print, with a graphic pattern. They can be applied and an exclusive, original drawing - there would be money. The cost of the skin depends on its size, quality, and the complexity of the decorative coating.
- For its installation does not require a perfectly flat base, installation is carried out using hinged fasteners and glue. It takes time - no more than an hour.
The color of the panel is usually matched to the facade of the kitchen or is combined with furniture fittings. It looks great and skinned with backlight, especially if it depicts the underwater world, or, for example, a night city.
Of course, the choice of panels for decorating the kitchen is based on the general concept of interior design. Most modern architectural styles include the use of metal and glass: hi-tech, techno, fusion. In such cases, glass panels are thrown off - just a godsend.
I had never heard of this kind of finish before, like a skinhead. The first thing that came to mind is very practical. Glass does not absorb any impurities, is easy to clean, and gives an exceptionally flat surface. And about the variety of drawings and color schemes, there’s nothing even to say. I think this decoration can be combined with any chosen style of kitchen design, from Hi-Tech to Provence and Country.
For a long time I chose the material for wall decoration in the kitchen. And in the end, I decided to use the standard MDF. Not only did the price turn out to be attractive, but the exterior was wood-like. Moreover, you can choose the colors and colors, because their range is pretty decent. In general, for the walls took MDF, made under the nut. And for finishing the corners I bought oak panels. What in the compartment with dark furniture and kitchen utensils created a very good appearance. Well, before installing them, he simply made the crate of the walls with wooden slats. And he fixed the panels on them with glue and screws.
