Surface preparation and ceramic tile masonry

The main criterion for the installation of ceramic tiles will be flatness of the surface. If it is plastered qualitatively, then such work will not need to be carried out. It remains only to primer it for a stronger bond of the mortar for the installation of ceramic tiles with the surface.

Training:

  • If the surface is not treated with plaster, then it is necessary to use the starting and finishing mortar, which is applied to the surface using spatulas and a building level.
  • After complete drying, they are treated with sandpaper.

Installation of ceramic tiles, for such work you will need:

  • Concrete mortar or special glue.
  • Cruciform lighthouses.
  • A decorative putty of a certain shade to mask the masonry seams.
  • Tile cutter for cutting tiles and grinding the ends.
  • Building level.
  • Tape measure and pencil.

Work:

  • The process itself is quite simple and it is necessary to start installation from one of the corners of the structure, which is located closer to the entrance to the room.
  • Mortar or glue is applied to the back of the ceramic tile and to the surface. Moreover, its quantity should be small.

In order not to use decorative putty after full installation of the material, it is possible to apply a coloring pigment during the preparation of the solution and give the seam immediately a certain shade.
