To cover oval surfaces, bending materials made from polymers or rubber are used. For the application of hard materials, narrow forms are used (from laminate, ceramic tile or porcelain stoneware), which allow you to visually repeat the profile of the surfaces to be coated.

Interior step, great design solution

Initially, I want to note that the laminate is certainly considered a popular flooring, but it is not advisable to use it for decorating stairs and interior steps. Due to the small area of ​​the step and the small thickness of the material, it is impossible to install it in a floating way and at the same time, save all the rules for installation technology.

Note. Given that the laminate is more economical than wood, the material began to be used for these purposes.

Laying Technology:

• Initially, the surface should be perfectly leveled and cleaned of debris.
• For better adhesion (if the interior stair is made of concrete), the lower lacquer layer of the board is removed from the laminate.
• Then the surface must be thoroughly greased with adhesive and covered with a laminate, cut to size.

Tip. As for the end edges and the junction of the riser and the tread, they are formed using metal and plastic corners of the corresponding color and configuration.

In order to cut out all the necessary details from the laminate, an electric jigsaw is used and fit them to the size of the riser. For direct cuts, a saw is used on a tree, and in our case, for a figured configuration, a thin narrow saw.

Using the substrate under the laminate:

• For quality finishes, it is recommended to use a 2 mm polyethylene foam backing.
• This will ensure a normal level of sound insulation.
• Dampen vibration when walking.
• Make additional insulation.

Note. As fasteners for finishing the oval, self-tapping screws with small heads are used. Each element of the material at the corners is screwed with screws, and then pressed carefully with decorative corners.

An example was given for designing an identical oval material. There are also options for decorating an oval in color: the use of porcelain stoneware, ordinary ceramic tiles, plastic panels and the most economical option is regular painting. It all depends on the financial capabilities and design of the flooring of the room.
