Finish front door slope, as a rule, is made by the material with which the canvas is lined. But there are options and finishes with other materials.

Choose a finish option

There are several possible ways to do this work. They differ in the material used and the method of work.
It all depends on the slope and location. We will give you several options, and the choice is yours.

Slope plaster

This is the most common option that will suit any kind of door trim. Therefore, we decided to start with him.
This finish is suitable for almost any material of the door and it is quite practical. Easy to maintain and does not require large installation costs.

Preparing the base plane

This will be the first step that needs to be done in a quality manner, and the lifetime of the structure will depend on this. Moreover, it is necessary to level the surface during any finishing.
So:

• We look at the surface, it should be cleaned from the previous coating. To do this, use a brush for metal;
• Now we look at the presence of cracks and delamination of the previous coating. If it is, then beat off with a hammer and a chisel. The fact is that it is impossible to make plasters on such a coating, it will disappear anyway;

We knock out stucco that does not hold well

• After this, the surface must be primed. This will make the connection stronger and more reliable;
• We take a direct rail and apply to the slope.
  We apply a building level to it and determine the degree of deviation of the slope. We put the line.

Slope plaster

This work is performed in the following sequence:

• For kneading, it is best to use a plastic bucket from under the paint. It has a flat bottom and is best suited for this;
• After that, prepare the solution in the right amount. It can be made of cement or dry mix applied.
  Mix better with a drill with a nozzle. This will make the mass homogeneous;
• We make lighthouses on the slope. To do this, take the finished one and put it on the surface to the desired height;
• Now apply the plaster to the surface. Only putty do not immediately apply a large layer.
  Do it in stages. Apply one, after drying, apply another.
  When there is little left, then the finish should already be applied, it has a finer fraction and a smooth surface is obtained;
• Along the edge should be put a sickle, which is attached when applying the finish. Then you will get an angle that is quite even and will not be damaged when there is not much mechanical stress;
• We give the surface to completely solidify and go through it with a mesh or sandpaper, knock down irregularities. After this, it remains to apply the primer and paint;

Slope finishing with other materials

For this, you can use almost any material. You can apply and drywall and MDF or laminate.

The work is carried out according to one principle, which we will now talk about:

• In this embodiment, the decoration of the slopes of the entrance doors begins with the preparation of the base plane. It just looks a little different.
  We knock down irregularities, primer and put a mark on the level of placement of the slope, as in the first version;
• When the front door is ready, the slopes are finished with a different fastener.We need to make a base for the installation.
  To do this, use wooden slats.

Attention: Before fastening, the tree must be treated with an antiseptic, which is available on the market. Coat a couple of times.
This will protect you from rot and extend the life of the wood. Only this is done in advance, the material must completely dry.

• We cut the prepared beam into the desired size and fasten it to the surface using a punch. The connection is made on the dowel.

Caution: The mount must be sufficiently rigid. For this, do not use the dowels in the kit.
It is necessary to take dummies of plastic separately and to them self-tapping screws, with a diameter larger than the hole by a couple of mm. This will give a stiff connection.
The door will hit the frame, so the slopes should not loosen.

• Now on the materials. They can be attached to glue or screws.
  For MDF, it is worth making the correct measurements first and ordering the panels. For drywall, you just need to cut the sheet to the desired size from the sheet and do not fasten right up to the surfaces.
  Leave a gap of five mm. This way you avoid the trouble of expanding the material. Cutting is done with a regular sharp knife.
  For the laminate, it is necessary to cut the desired workpiece and then glue on the end of the veneer. After this, we try on the material and begin fastening;

We cut the blanks to the desired size

• For glue, just apply it to the surface and glue it. For self-tapping, proceed as follows.
  We apply the workpiece to the installation site and drill the assembly. After that, remove and make an outcry for the head of the screw.
  We attach and fasten. After that, close the hat with a plastic plug;
• In our corner there is a junction line where you should attach a plastic corner. Putty is clogged in the hole along the contour.

How can you finish the slopes after installing the front door now you know. The price of the material may be different, it all depends on your wallet.
The most important thing is not to rush and do everything efficiently. When attaching MDF, take special measurements.
If the material does not fit, then the manufacturer will not replace it for you.
