What is it like?
Water-dispersion putty - a ready-to-use product that is intended for the preparation of walls, ceilings and floors for subsequent finishing. The composition is based on acrylic materials. The material is recommended for all types of surfaces indoors and outdoors.
The manufacturer of water-dispersible putty often makes this composition based on resins. Such components as the main active substance are not chosen by chance. Resins improve the properties of the product. Synthetic resin dispersion putty has increased strength and dries quickly.
Product properties
Material Properties:
- Resistance to change of climatic conditions. Thanks to this, the product can be used outdoors.
- Water resistance. The material creates a waterproofing surface, so the tool is recommended to be used in bathrooms, in the kitchen and in any room with high humidity.
- Good adhesion. This means that the product improves adhesion to the surface and finish.
Advantages and disadvantages of the composition
Advantages of water dispersion composition:
- Good ductility. The product is easy to apply and tolerates temperature changes without the formation of defects.
- The composition is non-toxic. When using the material, there is no intoxication of the body, even if the work is carried out indoors.
- Easy to apply. Both professional and non-professional craftsmen will cope with the use of the product.
- Ecological cleanliness. Therefore, the material is safe for health, so professional craftsmen recommend using the product even in children's rooms.
- Simple rules of use. This putty is a ready-to-use product, so the composition does not need preliminary preparation.
- High drying rate. An hour after applying the product, the next finishing step is performed. However, professional craftsmen recommend increasing the drying time to 6 hours, and at low temperatures to 20 hours.
- Easy to sand. To smooth the surface does not require much effort.
- Breathability. After applying the composition, the surface receives the necessary amount of air, which prevents the emergence of an aggressive bacterial environment - mold and bending.
- Low thermal conductivity. The material insulates the building base, which creates a favorable indoor climate.
- Long operational period.
The material has its drawbacks. The composition is not stored. After opening the packaging, the whole product is used, otherwise it will harden. Other negative aspects were not discovered by professional craftsmen.

Application rules
When repairs are performed by an unprofessional master with his own hands, he must carefully study the rules for using the tool.
Necessary tools
For work, prepare:
- water dispersion composition;
- primer;
- primer application tool;
- set of spatulas;
- grater for grinding the surface.
Surface preparation
Work begins by preparing the surface for further use of the product. Remove the old coating, clean the building base from dust. If mold and fungus are present on the surface, remove them with an antiseptic. Rinse the base with water. After drying, apply a primer (as in the photo below). Treat the surface with a primer in two layers. First apply one coat and take a break from work to dry. After this, apply the primer again. Suspend work again to dry the composition.
If the putty is applied to the tree, then the application of the primer can be discarded. Water-dispersion putty by itself will provide waterproofing of the surface and will be firmly fixed on the base due to good adhesive properties.
Material application
Open the packaging and mix thoroughly. If the consistency of the material is too thick, then dilute the product with water. Take 1 ml of water per 1 kg of product. Stir the composition and use as directed.
Start work from the corners. Putty on a surface with an angular putty knife. Then treat the surface with the compound. With a narrow spatula, place the composition on a wide spatula, and then distribute the solution over the building base. Layer thickness - 1 mm. Take a break for 6 hours to dry the composition. If work is carried out at a temperature below 180 C, the drying time of the product increases to 20 hours. After that, putty on the surface again. Suspend work again to dry the composition. Next, clean the base. Then clean the surface from dust and prime. After the primer dries, you can finish.
If the surface needs a slight leveling, then putty put a thin layer. To do this, dilute the composition with water so that the consistency becomes liquid, like a primer. Then apply the solution to the surface with a spray gun. After drying, smooth the surface with a grater, prime and finish.
