Surface preparation

This is possible if the coating is made with an oil agent, is firmly held on the wall, and there is no aggressive antibacterial environment. In all other situations, the old paint is removed. This is done with a spatula, a special tool or a building hair dryer.
When the old coating is removed, the surface is cleaned. If water was used, then the work is suspended until the wall dries. Then a primer is applied. The finished product is mixed and applied to the wall. The dry composition is diluted with water. The proportions are usually 1: 1. Recommendations for the preparation of the composition are indicated on the package. To apply the primer, a brush, roller or spray gun is used. The primer is applied in two layers, but not in a row, but with a break. Each coating should dry. Only then can we proceed to the next stage of work.

Cooking composition

However, this is not enough for high-quality preparation of the solution. The composition is recommended to do so:
- the mixture is placed in a pre-prepared container and filled with half of the required water;
- the solution is mixed with a drill with a mixer nozzle or a construction mixer;
- the remaining water is added;
- the agent is mixed again with a mixer;
- the composition is left for 15 minutes;
- the solution is stirred and used as intended.
The composition of the dry product is applied to the wall immediately. The mixture is not subject to storage.
Putting starting putty
After preparing the surface, materials and tools, putty is applied to the walls. First, the starting lineup is used. If we talk about how to putty on the wall, it is recommended to start work from the corners. Next, the composition is placed on the surface of the wall. In this case, two spatulas are used - narrow and wide.The first solution is applied to the second tool. After that, with a wide spatula, the composition is distributed along the wall. Layer thickness - 5 mm. The starting composition is designed to align the walls and mask small defects. After drying, the surface is ground.
Finishing Application
Before applying the finishing layer of putty, the surface is recommended to be primed. The primer will clean the building base from dust, which is formed as a result of grinding. When the primer is dry, putty is applied. The composition is laid in the same way as the starting tool, but with a thickness of 1 mm. Further, the surface is ground and primed. Other methods of applying putty
Putty putty with a spatula is not the most convenient way. It requires certain skills in construction to make the surface smooth. Therefore, professional masters recommend that beginners use a roller or spray gun.
Using roller
To putty in this way (as in the photo), you will need a roller whose pile length does not exceed 5 mm. The solution in this case should not be as thick as when applying the composition with a spatula. Therefore, professionals recommend taking a dry mixture to prepare a remedy of the desired consistency. To do this, water is taken in larger quantities than indicated on the package. Next, the roller is dipped into the solution and it is held along the wall. When the entire surface is processed, it is carried out with a spatula, which is held at an angle of almost 900. This will help get rid of excess putty. This method is suitable for hiding minor defects on the wall and leveling the base.
Using a spray gun
Another way to apply putty on the surface is to use a spray gun. Such a tool increases labor productivity and allows you to finish the job in a short time without loss of quality.
To apply the composition in this way, you will need a spray gun and liquid putty. This product is suitable for varnish, metal, acrylic, plastic surfaces, as well as polyester putties. Puttying with a spray gun is carried out by spraying the composition onto a building base. Work is carried out after degreasing and priming the surface.
Puttying on gypsum plasterboard
Putty is applied in a certain way on the walls of drywall. To carry out the work, you need a tool that does not contain solvents. It is recommended to use cement, polymer or gypsum putties. The first two compounds are suitable for rooms with high humidity. Gypsum putty is recommended for dry rooms.
Before applying the composition, the surface is prepared. To do this, the screws are screwed in or out so that their hats are 1 mm below the surface of the drywall. Then the construction base is inspected for defects. If peeling of the material is detected, the paper is cut off and the damaged area is ground.
