Cullet what is it?

There are several varieties of wall decoration for living rooms: wallpapering (for painting and painted) and stucco decoration (simple or decorative). What to choose non-woven or cullet, we will consider in more detail.

The difference between them is only in technology and type of weaving:

• In the first case, the material is similar to a regular smooth canvas,
• In the second, it is decorated with a certain relief pattern, in addition, they are characterized by a higher density than the first.

So:

• Fiberglass is used to strengthen walls and smooth their surfaces.

Note. This procedure is especially often performed in the decoration of ceilings. It is easier to glue fiberglass on its surface than to perform plastering and puttying.

• The surfaces are perfectly smooth, with a marble-like texture.
• But so they can only look in painted form, and not pasted with other wallpaper.

The advantages of cullets, comparison with non-woven

The material is sold in rolls, consists of fiberglass impregnated with a special substance and a substrate.

The front side is clearly expressed in texture, intended for further staining:

• A good competitor for them in terms of painting are non-woven wallpapers.
• Composite paper-like type of finishing material, consisting of cellulose and a binder in the proportions of 70% and 30%, respectively.

Note. Unlike the material in question, the material is pressed, not braided. Available as a non-woven dense.

Interesting fact! Non-woven wallpaper, in general, less durable, more susceptible to abrasion, poorly withstand occasional mechanical damage, unlike glass wallpaper. They are not recommended, for this reason, to use in public places.

Non-woven fabrics are considered heavy, besides they are prone to absorb moisture. For example, with ordinary wetting or from glue, therefore, it is impossible to apply the composition to the canvas. The answer to the question: what to choose non-woven or glass wallpaper for each individual and depends on their own preferences and wishes.

Where are the glass sheets used?

They can be used in both residential and public buildings.

In addition to direct use (as wallpaper) they can be used for:

• Decorating facade parts.
• Furniture.
• Doors
• And other surfaces.

The material is not only good and beautiful in terms of decoration, but also very famous for practicality:

• Not often afraid of wet care, even with disinfectants in public buildings, in particular hospitals.

• Due to its unique properties and texture of the canvas, cullets give a unique appearance and style and beauty.

What adhesive composition to glue the glass sheet

Choose glue.

If we consider the composition of the glue specifically for this category of wallpaper, then it is made on the basis of starch, with various additives that improve the moisture-resistant qualities of the paintings, antibacterial properties.

Consider which glue is better for cullet, and what it is:

• In fact, the more expensive the composition, the faster it swells and has better adhesive properties.
• And since the glass cloth is much heavier than paper analogues, the choice should be made in favor of those that are better able to keep them on the surface.

Tip. It is better to choose types based on PVA glue or dispersion, they are designed for heavy paintings.

The composition is completely ready for use and consists of various additives and adhesives:

• On sale comes packaged in containers (plastic buckets) 5 kg and 10 kg.
• Shelf life depends on the manufacturer, can withstand about 5 cycles (freezing / thawing) while not losing its quality properties.

Tip. You can use universal mixtures, but this approach to solving the problem with sticking is extremely rare, only when there is no other alternative.
