Noise isolation of partitions

Zaglumin Victor

Sound insulation of partitions inside the apartment is a necessary measure to create a comfortable atmosphere of housing. The implementation of this work is relevant for the "noisy" areas of the apartment: bathroom, children's room, kitchen. The study requires silence and protection from noise from other rooms. Internal noise insulation will protect the room from the penetration of sounds and allow you to focus on work.

Soundproofing the interior walls

Partition insulation

Studio layout of apartments is common in modern new buildings. Residents delimit the areas of the room, block the kitchen, children's corner or sleeping place. For these purposes, mainly drywall is used - because of the ease of installation, low cost and ease. Non-load-bearing frame structures are formed from it on rack profiles. Soundproofing material is placed between two sheets of drywall.

Noise isolation of drywall partitions is provided due to the characteristics of the material. For added protection against sound penetration:

  • increase the gap between the profiles;
  • lay a thick facing layer;
  • thicken the frame;
  • use elastic mounting brackets with soundproofing properties.

The structure of drywall contributes to partial noise absorption, the casing creates an obstacle to sounds from the next room:

  • from mineral wool plates;
  • polystyrene foam;
  • acoustic mats.

Filling the internal cavity of the septum

  • To fill the inner cavity of the septum, membrane sheets are used - a thin polymer with a fleece coating. The thickness of the material is 2.5-12 mm. Texaund membranes are often used — materials with high soundproofing properties.
  • Practical soundproofing of drywall partitions - filling the internal cavity with fiberglass or acoustic plates. Among the Rockwool construction products, there are homogeneous stone wool panels that are not susceptible to decay, and the Knauf concern produces non-combustible fiberglass aggregates.
  • To reduce the level of impact noise, it is advisable to fill the space between the drywall with elastic materials. Simple soundproofing of partitions - spraying on the surface of the wall of cellulose fibers. The sprayer contains an adhesive substance, using a special device, the material is applied to the surface with a layer of the desired thickness. An example of a spray is a mixture of Sonaspray, which is used for interior soundproofing, applied to roofs and ceilings.

Sound insulation technology indoors

Soundproofing is carried out during the installation of partitions. The work is carried out in the following order:

  1. With the help of a laser level, markings are made on the floor, load-bearing wall and ceiling.
  2. The sections of the profile for the frame are prepared.
  3. A wooden beam in a frame structure will enhance noise absorption, so it is advisable to prepare beam supports.
  4. Starting profiles are fixed on the ceiling and floor with self-tapping screws.
  5. Soundproofing material is laid in the space between the sheets.
  6. Vertical fasteners are installed.
  7. Mounting areas, holes are sealed with a silicone compound.
  8. Finishing work is being done.

In the process of filling the frame into the partition, the planned communications are laid: electrical wiring and pipes. The cable is inserted into the protective corrugated hose, the pipes are wrapped with polyurethane covers. When laying the material, avoid voids in the wall.

The use of elastic suspensions and special polymer mounts also increase the noise insulation level.

Independent interior insulation is a simple but responsible process. Carefully read the instructions for the materials, take into account the level of fire hazard, pay attention to the composition. Use environmentally friendly isolators, especially in the nursery. The video in this article will clearly demonstrate the process of installing soundproofing indoors.
